
Aiperi, the only Kyrgyz woman, finished the year as the leader in the world ranking of United World Wrestling (UWW), which is an important achievement for the country.
This year, she participated in five competitions, where she won five medals, including gold at the Asian Championship in Jordan and the Islamic Games in Saudi Arabia. She also took second place at the World Championship in Serbia and at the ranking tournament in Albania, and earned bronze at the international tournament in Hungary.
Among the other nominees for this title were Meerim Jumanaazanova and Gulnur Tashtanbekova (wrestling), Ainuska Kalil kyzy (athletics), and Angelina Blindul (triathlon).
At the same time, the best male athlete was boxer Omar Livaza.
