In Kyrgyzstan, maternity and observation beds were closed earlier due to a lack of funding, and Deputy Gulnara Baatyrova stated at a joint meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh the need to restore them in some remote areas.

She noted that this problem is particularly acute for remote settlements, citing a tragic example from the village of Alaykuu, where a woman trying to reach the district hospital was involved in an accident and died along with her child. "Maternity beds need to be returned to remote villages," the deputy emphasized.

In addition, Baatyrova proposed to create reference laboratories in the regions to improve medical services.

Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov reported on current efforts to enhance maternal protection and the directives given to the new Minister of Health. He emphasized that within the framework of the existing national program "Umut," perinatal screening is being introduced, which should help improve the situation. Also, according to Baisalov, the incident in the village of Alaykuu will be thoroughly examined.

Baisalov added that the issue of creating reference laboratories is also under consideration.
