At an extraordinary meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh held on December 26, it was announced that the General Plan for the development of Bishkek until 2050 does not provide for the relocation of the existing railway outside the capital. Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov presented the main aspects of the document to the deputies.

One of the developers, Irina Grishechkina, also presented the general plan. She noted that various factors were taken into account when creating the document, including demographic forecasts, the state of urban infrastructure, as well as cultural and environmental aspects.

During the discussion, Deputy Rakhmat Junushbaeva asked about the possibility of relocating the railway line outside the city. The project developers responded that such measures are not included in the document.

Additionally, it was mentioned that the railway connection will only be organized for an industrial park of approximately 300 hectares located in the northern part of Bishkek, near Manas Airport. At the same time, no railway infrastructure is planned for the industrial zones in the western part of the city.

Deputy Junushbaeva noted that the lack of railway communication could hinder the development of industrial zones. In response, the developers explained that railways require complex coordination processes and belong to state infrastructure.

Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised questions about allocating separate lanes on roads for individual mobility, as well as measures to improve the environmental situation in the capital and create comfortable conditions for residents. He also inquired about the regulation of the renovation program.

Gulya Kozhokulova, another deputy, expressed concern about the development of the central part of Bishkek and the construction of multi-story residential buildings. She emphasized the importance of adhering to legislation in the field of historical and cultural heritage protection and urban planning policy when expanding the housing stock.
