In the last years of her life, Brigitte Bardot actively advocated for animal rights and established her own foundation. Although her opinions sometimes sparked controversy, she did not overlook the importance of freedom of speech.
The actress appeared in more than 50 films, including such well-known works as “The Truth,” “Contempt,” and “Dear Brigitte.” She collaborated with stars like Alain Delon and Marcello Mastroianni, as well as worked with outstanding French directors, including Jean-Luc Godard.
One of Bardot's last successful works was the feminist farce “Viva Maria!” by Louis Malle, where she played the role of Maria, the daughter of an Irish terrorist.
She was 91 years old.
