- As it became known, starting from January 22, 2026, a tariff exemption for the import of electric vehicles to Armenia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan will come into effect, as reported by the Eurasian Economic Commission.

At a recent meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, Kyrgyzstan was allocated a quota for the import of 15,000 electric vehicles in 2026.

This decision includes the extension of existing exemptions and an increase in the quota to 15,000 vehicles. The document was signed at the meeting of the EIC held in Moscow.

Representatives of the President's Administration of Kyrgyzstan noted that this increase in the quota is related to the full utilization of previously granted tariff exemptions for the import of vehicles with electric and hybrid engines.

A decision was also made by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission on December 5, 2025, No. 111, according to which, starting from January 22, 2026, electric vehicles imported into a number of member states will be exempt from customs duties.

From this date, amendments to the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union concerning certain types of vehicles will also come into effect (Decision of the EEC Council dated December 23, 2025, No. 110, and Decision of the EEC Board dated September 23, 2025, No. 81).
