In a match held at the "Carlos Belmonte" stadium, attended by around 17,000 spectators, "Albacete" sensationally defeated "Real" with a score of 3:2, eliminating the team from the tournament.

Jefte Betancor became the star of the match, scoring two goals. Javi Villar also made his mark. Despite "Real's" efforts to bring intrigue back into the game, the Madrid team was unable to save the situation and exited the Cup.

This match was the first for Álvaro Arbeloa as head coach of "Real" following the resignation of Xabi Alonso. The Madrid squad mainly featured reserves, which created additional difficulties against an ambitious opponent.

Before the match, incidents occurred involving racist chants directed at Vinícius Júnior, which marred the atmosphere at the stadium.

This victory propelled "Albacete" into the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey and became one of the loudest upsets of the tournament this season.
