On February 13, 2026, a meeting took place between the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, and the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev. The Tajik Prime Minister arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a working visit to participate in the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the two countries, as reported by the government press service.

During the meeting, Kasymaliev noted that in 2025, the trade volume between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan amounted to 36 million dollars, which is a significant increase compared to 2024, when this figure grew almost 24 times.

The head of the Cabinet emphasized that the presidents of both states have set an ambitious goal—to increase trade turnover to 500 million dollars—and expressed his readiness for active actions to achieve this goal.
