In Bishkek, inspections of prices for meat products and other essential goods continue, as reported by the local mayor's office.
The administrations of Sverdlovsk, Pervomaisky, Oktyabrsky, and Lenin districts, together with representatives of the antimonopoly service, veterinary service, and tax authorities, regularly conduct monitoring and raids at markets and stores in the city.
Inspections cover places such as the "Osh Bazaar" shopping center, "Orto-Sai," "Alamedin," "Dordoy," "Aziz," as well as retail chains "Market," "Globus," "Asia," and others.
During these events, specialists conduct explanatory talks with sellers, emphasizing the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases and the necessity to adhere to established retail price limits. In particular, maximum prices for beef and lamb are monitored, which should not exceed 680 soms per kilogram.
Additionally, measures are being considered to increase the volume of trade in meat products at socially acceptable prices, including providing trading spaces without intermediaries and opening new sales points.
The mayor's office also reminds that from January 14, 2026, wholesale meat trading at the Osh market will cease, and a new meat pavilion "Chuygun," compliant with all sanitary and veterinary standards, has opened at the "Altyn-Taka" livestock market. Currently, wholesale meat sales are conducted in this pavilion.
Retail meat sales also continue in the same area at the "Taza Adal Et" pavilion, where residents can purchase safe and quality meat products.
The current wholesale prices for meat are: lamb — 640–680 soms, beef — 640–680 soms, horse meat — 540–560 soms, while retail prices start from 660 soms.
