In the capital, prices for meat are being monitored and regular raids are being conducted.
In Bishkek, there is ongoing monitoring of prices for key food products, including meat. This information comes from the municipality of the capital.
The monitoring is carried out under the order of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, which was signed on August 7, 2025, under number 140, regarding the introduction of temporary state regulation of prices for meat (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat).
The administrations of Sverdlovsky, Pervomaisky, Leninsky, and Oktyabrsky districts, together with representatives of the antimonopoly service, tax authorities, and veterinary service, regularly conduct raids and monitoring activities in the markets and trading points of the capital.
The inspections cover markets such as "TRK Osh Bazaars," "Orto-Sai," "Alamedin," "Dordoy," "Aziz," as well as retail chains Markety, Globus, Asia, and other trading facilities.
During the monitoring, entrepreneurs are informed about the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases and the necessity to comply with the established maximum retail prices. Special attention is paid to controlling the maximum price of beef and lamb, which should not exceed 680 soms per kilogram.
Measures are also being considered to increase the trade in meat products at socially significant prices, including allocating places for direct trade without intermediaries and opening additional sales points.
Since January 14, 2026, due to the cessation of wholesale meat trading at the Osh market, a new wholesale pavilion "Chuygun" has started operating in the territory of the livestock market "Altyn-Taka," which meets all sanitary and veterinary standards. Currently, wholesale meat trading is conducted here.
Retail sales continue in the same area at the pavilion "Taza Adal Et," where residents can purchase quality and safe meat products.
All meat sales points from the Osh market have been relocated to the "Altyn-Taka" market. The "Chuygun" pavilion offers customers meat at both wholesale and retail prices.
The current wholesale prices are: lamb - 640–680 soms, beef - 640–680 soms, horse meat - 540–560 soms. Retail prices start from 660 soms.
Regular raids and price monitoring continue on an ongoing basis.
