- On March 2, 2026, the State Financial Intelligence Service, which is part of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, notified all financial and non-financial organizations about the amendments made to the UN Security Council's sanctions lists.

According to information posted on the official website of the agency, on February 27, 2026, the UN Security Council Committee for resolutions 1267/1989/2253 removed several organizations from its sanctions list that had previously been linked to ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

In particular, the group "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham," previously known as "Jabhat al-Nusra," was not included in this list. This organization was added to the sanctions list on May 14, 2014, and changed its name in January 2017.

As a result, financial institutions, including banks, microfinance organizations, exchange offices, and payment systems, as well as non-financial entities such as notaries, real estate agents, and gambling operators, need to update their internal databases of sanctions lists and adapt their compliance procedures in accordance with the latest UN data.

This decision is based on UN Security Council resolutions No. 1267, No. 1989, No. 2253, and No. 2368.
