The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh approved amendments to the law on physical culture and sports in the first reading

During the meeting of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs of the Jogorku Kenesh, the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Physical Culture and Sports" was reviewed. This draft law, initiated by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, received approval in the first reading.

The Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Urmat Asanbaev, noted that the proposed changes are aimed at creating conditions for people engaged in adaptive sports, including those with hearing impairments. The draft law also includes provisions regarding the interaction between republican federations and authorities in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as the accounting of athletes' work experience. The adoption of new rules to ensure the safety of spectators at sporting events will help strengthen order and security during all sporting events in the country.

During the discussion, Deputy Rustambek uulu Sovetbek emphasized the need for equal conditions to support sports federations, specifically raising the issue of volleyball development. Deputy Gulsharкан Kultaeva added that the draft law includes deaflympic sports and raised questions about the introduction of norms concerning senior and personal coaches.

Deputy Bolot Sagynayev highlighted the importance of developing school sports leagues, including volleyball, and raised questions about preparations for the World Nomad Games and their mascot. Deputy Seidbek Atambaev discussed mechanisms for encouraging athletes and requirements for sports federations.

Deputy Saltanat Amanova expressed support for the proposed norms of the draft law, clarifying details on the amendments made. She also raised questions about supporting the salbuurun federation in the context of the World Nomad Games. Chair Toktobubu Ashymbaeva discussed funding for athletes preparing for international competitions in Olympic, Paralympic, and deaflympic sports.
