An insurance certificate worth 2 million soms was awarded to the nursing home 'Үмүт үйү' in the capital. This was reported by the Bishkek city administration.
It is worth reminding that on January 6, 2026, an incident occurred in the palliative department of this institution — a fire that claimed the lives of two people. Since April 2023, the social service 'Үмүт үйү' has been under the management of the Department of Social Development of the city administration and provides services to elderly people and individuals with disabilities over the age of 18 who need social assistance.
As indicated by the city administration, on February 11, 2026, the director of the nursing home was ceremoniously presented with an insurance certificate amounting to 2,020,311.73 soms.
The event was attended by the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, and the chairman of the board of the State Insurance Organization, Eldiyar Kaldarbekov.
Aibek Junushaliev emphasized that this case highlights the necessity of timely property insurance and assured that the authorities will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and sustainable development of the capital.
According to the city administration, in 2025, 65,989 residential premises and 49,308 vehicles in Bishkek were insured, among which 2,337 units are municipal transport. Additionally, 587 municipal facilities received full insurance coverage.
Furthermore, by the mayor's directive, all institutions within the city's social development system were insured with the State Insurance Organization to minimize financial risks, preserve municipal property, and comply with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. This includes the Social Stationary Institution for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities 'Үмүт үйү'.
