In the Virunga area, a well-known national park located in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, where armed conflicts have persisted for a long time, twins of mountain gorillas have been born, as reported by BBC News.

This event is significant for zoology, as the mountain gorillas residing in this park are among the last individuals of their species, which is endangered.
The twins were spotted by rangers who monitor the condition and habitat of these primates.

They saw a 22-year-old gorilla named Mafuko with her offspring (both boys). An initial examination showed that all family members are in good condition.

Interestingly, the probability of twins being born among mountain gorillas is only about one percent.
