In the southern part of Germany, in Bavaria, an unusual event occurred: about 50 sheep unexpectedly entered a Penny supermarket, causing mild chaos for 20 minutes. According to The Telegraph, the animals roamed freely around the store while employees tried to herd them out by banging on the counters.

Captured on video, the event shows how the flock entered the sales area and then, seemingly frightened, left it. The German TV channel ZDF noted that "the sheep caused complete chaos" and joked that they seemed to have taken the supermarket's slogan "First to Penny" literally.

According to media reports, the sheep strayed off path after getting separated from their main flock of 500 individuals. The shepherd explained that the animals mistook a bag of groceries for feed and headed to the store in search of food. The incident attracted attention not only from local residents but also from the German embassy in London.

In a statement, the embassy said: "On Monday morning, 50 runaway sheep caused a disturbance in a supermarket in rural Bavaria. They separated from their flock and wandered around the Penny store for 20 minutes before leaving."

Penny, for its part, decided to gift the sheep a year's supply of feed, noting that this incident drew additional attention to the store and became an unexpected advertisement.
