According to the press service of the Traffic Safety Department of the Osh Region Internal Affairs Directorate, the incident took place on January 19 in the village of Progress, in the Tорт-Kul ayil district. At approximately 14:10, a collision occurred at the 609.4 kilometer mark of the Bishkek–Osh highway.
Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a Hyundai Sonata passenger car, born in 1993 and residing in the village of Jeyrenchi in the Jazy ayil district, was traveling north when he crossed into the oncoming lane, leading to a head-on collision with a Howo truck driven by a 33-year-old resident of the village of Pakhta-Abad in the Aravan district.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the passenger car and his two passengers—a couple born in 1985 and 1988, both from the Uzgen district—were hospitalized at the Uzgen District Hospital.
Unfortunately, another passenger, born in 1949 and residing in the village of Shoro-Bashat in the Tорт-Kul ayil district, passed away in the hospital.
Currently, necessary investigative actions are being conducted to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
