During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, a draft law concerning "State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes" was discussed, which proposes to reduce the number of state awards from 46 to 20.

One of the most contentious points was the proposal to abolish the "Kemenger" award, traditionally given to state and municipal employees.

Opposing the proposed changes, Deputy Kamila Talieva expressed her dissatisfaction.

She emphasized that "Kemenger" is a word with deep cultural significance. The award has been presented to such outstanding figures as Kaligul Biiy, Barpy, and Moldо Niyaz. "Are you really going to abolish an entire genre of poetry? This draft law can be considered against the people's culture," she added.

It was also mentioned that as part of the amendments, the "El Akyny" award is planned to be excluded.

As a result, the deputies decided to postpone further consideration of the draft law for six months.
