IT industry of Kyrgyzstan: there is much to be proud of


In 2025, the attention of Kazakhstani media was focused on the rapid development of Kyrgyzstan's IT industry. Throughout the year, numerous significant events took place—from government initiatives to successes on the international stage.

Main Achievements

The development of IT infrastructure became one of the main priorities. In Bishkek, with the support of South Korea, the opening of a new IT hub aimed at supporting startups, training specialists, and international cooperation was announced. In the same city, the IT hub "Technopark" was launched, which became an important point for uniting the tech community and youth teams.

The Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan took an important step by announcing plans to purchase supercomputers to support artificial intelligence. This decision aims to create a computational base for scientific research, government projects, and AI startups.

Since 2025, the concept of "women's entrepreneurship" has been officially introduced in Kyrgyzstan, becoming part of the policy to support inclusive business and engage women in the economy and technology sector. As part of this initiative, the official chapter of Women in Tech Kyrgyzstan was created, aimed at supporting women in technology, education, and business, thereby increasing their participation in the country's startup ecosystem.

The fintech sector also showed impressive results: Kyrgyzstan launched its first state cryptocurrency exchange, Coin National Exchange, which was a unique event for Central Asia.

Additionally, Kyrgyzstan introduced the national stablecoin KGST in collaboration with Binance, aimed at developing digital financial instruments and increasing the transparency of financial operations.

It is important to note that the republic also presented the first digital AI avatar in the Kyrgyz language, marking a significant step towards localizing technologies and digital services for the population.

News from IT Companies

The final of the first wave of the She’s Next, Empowered by Visa initiative took place in Kyrgyzstan, implemented by Visa in collaboration with MBANK to support women's entrepreneurship. Over 7,000 participants from across the country gained access to training and expertise, and 20 finalists presented their projects at Pitch Day in Bishkek, where six of the best businesses received grants for development.

Eldik Bank completed a deal to acquire 100% of Beeline Kyrgyzstan, which became one of the most notable events of the year.

In Bishkek, MBANK introduced the innovative MPay technology, allowing payments from mobile phones without the internet via Bluetooth, quickly and without intermediaries.

O!Bank, in collaboration with Kaspi.kz, launched a new service for cross-border QR payments, enabling citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to pay for goods and services through mobile applications without fees.

The company Tsarka Kyrgyzstan opened a monitoring and response center for cyber threats, thereby strengthening cybersecurity in the country.

Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan established direct money transfers between the payment systems "Elkart" and UZCARD, allowing residents to transfer funds between cards through mobile applications without the involvement of international payment systems. Additionally, "Elkart" launched mutual acquiring with the payment system HUMO: HUMO cards are now available in Kyrgyzstan, and "Elkart" is available in Uzbekistan.

Successful Startups of the Year

The startup Alma entered the Google for Startups Cloud AI Accelerator program, gaining access to mentorship from Google experts and Google Cloud resources worth up to $350,000. The project also raised Series A funding with a valuation of over $120 million and held the Alma Ascent competition for immigrant-founded startups.

The web version of the AI assistant AkylAI from The Cramer Project was released, offering chat and document processing functions, with seven professional profiles for users.

ArtSkin became the winner of CASC-2025 for developing artificial skin for prosthetics and placed fourth at TechCrunch Road 2 Battlefield.

The startup Loadex AI raised $1.5 million in funding through the Alcheimist accelerator for logistics automation.

Newnorm, a project by Alina Iigilikova, is developing modular audio devices that can be used as headphones, speakers, and headsets. The project has gone through European accelerators, attracted investments, and created a durable and repairable product for conscious users.

Mama Space, a med-tech platform supported by AI and pregnancy trackers, made it to the top 120 of the Aurora Tech Award and received $10,000 as the best women's startup at the Digital Startup Awards in Tashkent.

Major IT Events in the Country

2025 was rich in significant IT and startup events in Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek hosted the anniversary hackathon "Startup Nation," the largest IT conference DevFest Bishkek 2025, and a global hackathon from NASA.

Central Asia became the venue for the first regional forum for startups and investors, the Central Asia Startup CUP, which gathered over 700 participants discussing venture investments, AI, FinTech, and women's entrepreneurship. The winner of the Startup Battle was the Kyrgyz startup ArtSkin, while Porte Tech reached the global final of the Startup World Cup. Several Kyrgyz startups received grants from the EU, and VoiceDiary will head to Silicon Valley.

KIT Forum 2025, the largest technology forum in the country, gathered over 3,000 participants and more than 60 speakers from 10 countries. The forum, under the slogan Enable AI, covered topics of artificial intelligence in education, business, government, FinTech, and GameDev. At the KIT AWARDS 2025, the winners included the Kyrgyz State Technical University, Enji.AI, and BusinessGPT.

Kyrgyzstan was also represented on the international stage: a pavilion for the country opened at Expo 2025 in Osaka, showcasing technological and innovative achievements.

The first ETH Bishkek Hackathon took place in Bishkek, uniting developers, designers, analysts, and Web3 enthusiasts to create innovative projects and share experiences.

The first cybersecurity conference, CYBER KÜN 2025, was dedicated to current cyber threats in a rapidly changing digital environment.

Also for the first time, a VC Party was held, where investors, business angels, top managers, and startups met to discuss new opportunities and network.
