In his New Year address, the Secretary General of the Turkic States Organization, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, summarized the achievements of the organization for 2025, highlighting the growth of international authority, the launch of new initiatives, and the expansion of institutional interaction.

The organization's activities in the past year were carried out in accordance with the "Vision of the Turkic World — 2040" and the Strategy for 2022–2026, focusing on deepening political dialogue, cultural exchange, and economic integration.

The presidency of the Kyrgyz Republic added dynamism to the work of the Turkic States Organization.
Over the year, more than 150 events were implemented, including over 30 high-level meetings and 10 new initiatives.
One of the key moments was the Informal Summit of the Turkic States Organization, held on May 21 in Budapest — the first meeting of this format in Europe, on the territory of an observer state. As a result of the summit, the Budapest Declaration was adopted, outlining key priorities in the areas of economic integration, digitalization, and security.

Additionally, the first meeting of the heads of government of the Turkic States Organization took place in Bishkek, marking a historic event. As a result, a permanent platform was established for coordinating actions aimed at the prompt implementation of decisions made at the summits.

The 12th summit of the Turkic States Organization took place on October 7 in Gabala under the motto "Regional Peace and Security." The leaders of the countries signed the Gabala Declaration, which contains 121 points covering a wide range of issues, including politics, economics, and security. Kyrgyzstan handed over the presidency to Azerbaijan.
The summit also approved the "Turkic States Organization+" initiative aimed at deepening interaction with external partners, as well as confirmed priority infrastructure projects such as the development of the Middle and Zangezur corridors and the Baku — Tbilisi — Kars and China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railways.
Humanitarian cooperation also developed: the III Universiade of Turkic States was held in Kyrgyzstan, Almaty became the youth capital of the Turkic world, and Manas was declared the tourist capital in 2025.

The Secretary General noted that in 2025, the Turkic States Organization strengthened its international ties by holding events in Geneva, Vienna, New York, and Brussels, as well as organizing high-level visits to Mongolia, Mexico, and the USA, including the signing of a memorandum with the International Center for Maize and Wheat Improvement (CIMMYT).

Kubanychbek Omuraliev added that in 2026, the organization will continue to strengthen cooperation under the leadership of Azerbaijan, with one of the significant events being an informal summit in Turkestan dedicated to artificial intelligence and digital development.
