In an interview with NOMAD TV, Zamirbek Cholponbaev, who previously held the position of Deputy Head of the GKNB and is now the Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the special service, shared his views on the work of the State Committee for National Security in recent years.
He agrees with the fact that his nearly 40 years of experience in security agencies and interaction with veterans gives him grounds to speak about significant progress in the work of the GKNB. He noted that in recent years, there have been systemic changes and noticeable developments in all areas of the commission's activities.
Cholponbaev also emphasized that the infrastructure has significantly improved in recent years. At the initiative of Kamchybek Tashiev, dozens of GKNB facilities have been built and renovated in various regions of the country, ranging from district offices to the central apparatus. Previously, employees often worked in unsuitable conditions; however, now, according to him, modern conditions for their service have been created.
He also noted that the authority of the GKNB in society has significantly increased. If in the early years of independence the level of trust in the special services was low, today, in his opinion, citizens see real results in the fight against corruption and organized crime, as well as in ensuring national security.
In addition, Cholponbaev emphasized that the expansion of the GKNB's powers meets modern challenges and is carried out in accordance with the legislation. To date, the Committee is dealing with issues that directly affect the security of the state, including the fields of economy, energy, and food security.
He also mentioned a recent meeting with veterans of the special services of the CIS countries, which took place in Kyrgyzstan. Representatives of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service and the FSB, as well as veterans from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan participated in this event. During their visit, they toured the central office of the GKNB, and, as Cholponbaev noted, they highly appreciated the level and equipment of the building, stating that there are no similar facilities in other republics of the region.
In conclusion, Zamirbek Cholponbaev emphasized that the activities of the GKNB in recent years indicate stable development, strengthening of institutional foundations, and restoration of public respect.
