On December 29, the press service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported the detention of a suspect in fraudulent activities.
The investigation established that S. U. E. used his personal family connections with President Sadyr Japarov and SCNS Chairman Kamchybek Tashiev to commit the crime. He seized vehicles, including a 2022 Toyota Tundra valued at $65,000 and a 2011 Mercedes-Benz A-Class estimated at $15,000.
When the victims attempted to reclaim their vehicles, the suspect began to threaten them, citing his connections with high-ranking officials in the country and refusing to return the cars.
“Additionally, during meetings, he claimed to have the ability to resolve various issues, backing up his words with photographs with members of the country's leadership,” the official statement said.
This incident was registered under Article 209 (“Fraud”) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect was detained on December 26 in the city of Cholpon-Ata at the SCNS temporary detention facility.
