The press service of the State Penitentiary Service (GPS) commented on the incident involving the detention of a former employee of the pre-trial detention center No. 1.
In a statement, the special services claimed that the detainee was posing as an assistant to the chairman of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), Kamchybek Tashiev, and was extorting $26,300 from a businessman by allegedly using friendly connections with his son.
The individual suspected of fraud has been identified as B.K.B., born in 1996, and has been detained.
According to information from the GPS, the detainee is originally from the Naryn region. In June 2025, he submitted documents to join the reserve personnel of the GPS. However, during the verification process, it was discovered that his younger brother, B.A.B., born in 2000, was convicted on November 13, 2024, under Article 282, Part 2, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic for "illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs for the purpose of sale by a group of individuals by prior agreement." He received 3 years of probation. Based on this, the candidate was denied employment on August 6.
