According to law enforcement agencies, since May 2023, Nurbek was part of an organized criminal group whose goal was the illegal production, acquisition, storage, transportation, and sale of drugs and psychotropic substances in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.
As indicated in the materials of the criminal case, Nurbek, following the instructions of an unidentified person named Jeremi, received mephedrone in significant quantities. He packaged it into zip bags and hid it in caches in the Chui region and Bishkek.
In May 2023, during special operational activities, officers from the Drug Control Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped Nurbek's vehicle in the Alamudun district of the Chui region. During the search, 24 thermopacks containing the psychotropic substance mephedrone, with a total weight of 5,937.669 grams, were found, as confirmed by the results of the examination.
- According to the verdict of the First May District Court, Nurbek was found guilty under Article 40 "Perpetrator of the Crime" and paragraph 2 of part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the illegal production of drugs committed by a group of individuals by prior conspiracy. He was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment in a general regime colony with confiscation of property.
- The judicial panel on criminal cases of the Bishkek City Court upheld the verdict.
The judicial panel of the Supreme Court, after discussing the arguments of the cassation appeal and hearing the opinions of all parties, concluded that the courts of the first and appellate instances reasonably found the man guilty of complicity in the illegal production and distribution of drugs and psychotropic substances.
