At the direction of the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) Kamchybek Tashiev, the central office of the agency will begin an investigation into the brutal murder of a woman committed by her ex-husband, a former police officer.

According to the GKNB press service, an investigative-operational group has already been formed, and work on the case has commenced.

The tragedy occurred in Bishkek on December 23, when a 47-year-old resident of the capital was killed around 9:00 PM on her birthday. The suspect in this crime is her ex-husband U.B.M., born in 1977.

The murder has caused a wide public outcry, especially due to the identity of the arrested individual, who, although no longer serving in the police, previously worked in law enforcement.

The GKNB reported that new details have emerged during the investigation, including the presence of a temporary protection order for the deceased and facts regarding the illegal possession and carrying of gas-traumatic weapons used in the crime.

At this time, the accused is in custody and has been transferred to the GKNB pre-trial detention center, where he will remain throughout the investigation.

The agency emphasized that a final legal assessment of the actions of the accused, as well as other individuals whose actions or inactions may have contributed to the commission of this brutal crime, will be provided at the conclusion of the investigation.

The GKNB expresses condolences to the children, relatives, and loved ones of the deceased, assuring that those responsible will be held accountable under the law, and the public will be informed about the progress of the investigation.
