During a working meeting dedicated to road construction in the Issyk-Kul region, the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, inquired about who is responsible for the construction of the section of the Barskoon - Karakol highway. In response, representatives of China Road stated that it was their job.

Tashiev clarified: "Do you speak Kyrgyz?"

To which the company employee replied: "No, we communicate in Russian."

The head of the GKNB expressed surprise: "Why don't you know Kyrgyz? You have been working in Kyrgyzstan for 20 years! Learn the language!" He also asked about the timeline for completing the 75 km road.

The company representative informed that, according to the contract, the work should be completed by September 1, 2028.

Tashiev specified: "Is there a possibility to finish the work earlier, or are you obliged to adhere to the contract deadlines?"

The company employee assured that they would try to complete the project ahead of schedule.

The head of the GKNB responded: "So, by the end of 2027, right? Delays in construction cause inconvenience to people. This is unacceptable. Therefore, please try to finish the work earlier. For now, this is just a request, but I hope we won't have to resort to harsh measures," he added.

The company representative promised that the main work would be completed in 2027.

Additionally, Tashiev instructed to complete the section from Balykchy to Barskoon by August 31, 2026, adding: "If you do not meet the deadline, you will be held personally responsible," he addressed the Minister of Transport and Communications, Absattar Syrybaev.
