At a recent meeting with law enforcement and judicial system employees in the Issyk-Kul region, the head of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), Kamchybek Tashiev, reported on the collected materials regarding a number of judges. This statement was made by the press center of the special services.
Tashiev emphasized that judges' decisions should not be based on personal connections or bribes. "Judges must remain outside of politics and make their decisions based on the law. It is necessary for the judicial system to cleanse its ranks. We have information that some judges are actively interfering in political matters and discussing high-ranking officials. We will take measures against such individuals in the near future; the materials are already prepared," he noted.
In addition, he mentioned judges' salaries: a district judge receives 250,000 soms, a regional court judge — 300,000, and a Supreme Court judge — approximately 500,000 soms.
"You have increased salaries and good working conditions, so you must act honestly. We will closely monitor your activities. Only the law can protect you; no other 'roof' will help," added Kamchybek Tashiev, addressing the judges.
