The vice-mayor reassured the residents of the capital
At a recent district meeting, Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov explained that the renovation process and the new general plan of Bishkek are not interconnected.
Local residents expressed concerns about the possible demolition of their homes in connection with the new general plan, especially in areas where green zones or state lands are located.
Kadyrov tried to dispel these fears among the citizens.
“The general plan does not affect the renovation. Its purpose is to establish zoning and the number of floors for new buildings. The decision on what will be built in place of the old houses remains with you. If an investor shows interest in your plot, discuss possible steps with them,” he noted.
It is worth reminding that earlier the city hall and the Ministry of Construction announced the start of renovation, which includes the demolition of residential buildings constructed during the Soviet period.
