In the Kyzyl-Tuuy rural district of the Suzak region, in the villages of Soku-Tash and Ak-Terek, more than 60 households have stopped receiving signals from Kyrgyz television channels. This became known from the accounts of local residents.

Saidilla Shamsiyev, one of the residents of Soku-Tash, reported that he has been experiencing television issues for the past 6-7 months. During this time, he has changed his antenna three times, hoping to fix the situation. Recently, two weeks ago, he purchased a more expensive model, but it did not yield the desired result. “Last year, the channels would sometimes show, sometimes disappear. Now the signal has completely vanished. I am already tired of re-tuning the TV. We even climb onto the roofs and try to adjust the antenna, but to no avail. Previously, before the transition to digital television, everyone had channels. Even if we take the TV to the city to a technician, it works perfectly. Earlier, only houses in the lowlands had problems, but now almost the entire village is without television,” he shared.

Another resident, Mamatkulov from the village of Toktogul, noted that local residents were unable to see the People's Kurultai. “I learned about its holding while in the city with my son, just by watching the news. We didn’t know it was happening, even though the delegates had already been chosen. We found ourselves in informational isolation, like Zardaly. Only in some houses, where the signal is better, do the channels work, while most do not have any. We need a repeater to solve this problem. It’s not worth shifting the responsibility onto the antennas — if television is not working throughout the village, this is a systemic problem,” he said.

As local residents note, the issue of the lack of television channels has already been discussed at a meeting with the presidential representative in the Jalal-Abad region. At that time, communication specialists visited one of the households and restored the signal, stating that the issue was with the antennas, after which local residents were advised to replace them.

Some residents purchased new antennas, but this did not resolve the problem. Sapargul Mamatova from Soku-Tash reported that they also tried to install a similar antenna, but the channels still do not come in.

90-year-old Ismailova from the village of Turganbu expressed dissatisfaction with the situation. “They say our country is developing, but we have neither proper roads nor water in our village, and now television has disappeared as well. I have asked my children many times to replace the antenna. At my age, it is difficult to use a phone, and the TV was my only source of entertainment. We haven’t watched television for three years. We also want to live like everyone else,” she added.

Villagers report that the absence of television channels is a problem for the entire village. Out of 60 households in Soku-Tash, more than 40 cannot receive television. Some residents, disappointed, have removed their televisions. A similar situation is observed in Ak-Terek, where about 20 households have also been left without a television signal.

In this regard, residents have once again appealed to the presidential representative, the district akim, and the rural administration, demanding measures to resolve the issue.
