YouTube has started blocking channels with AI trailers for movies

Channels have been replaced with a message stating that the pages are unavailable. Previously, monetization on these channels had already been suspended as a result of an investigation into the distribution of fake trailers created using generative AI. After adding labels such as "fan trailer" and "parody," monetization was restored, but subsequently, the warnings were removed, which led to the final block for violating the platform's policy regarding spam and misinformation. It turned out that Screen Culture was combining original footage with images generated by AI, misleading viewers.

Nihil P. Chaudhary, the founder of Screen Culture, acknowledged that his team of twelve editors used YouTube algorithms to release fake trailers even before the official versions appeared. For example, the channel created 23 different trailers for the movie "Fantastic Four," some of which appeared in search results before the official trailer.
Additionally, the investigation revealed that some Hollywood studios, such as Warner Bros Discovery and Sony, instead of protecting their copyrights, secretly asked YouTube to direct advertising revenue from these videos to them, claims Deadline. Disney, on the other hand, sent Google a letter demanding an end to the mass copyright infringement.
