Secretary General of the Turkic Council K. Omuraliyev summarized the organization's activities in 2025

In his address, Omuraliyev noted that 2025 was a key year for the implementation of the strategies "Vision of the Turkic World – 2040" and the Turkic Council for 2022–2026. Under the presidency of Kyrgyzstan, over 150 events took place this year, including more than 30 high-level meetings and 10 new initiatives aimed at deepening integration and developing the institutional structure of the Turkic Council.

One of the most significant events of the past year was the informal summit of the Turkic Council, which took place on May 21, 2025, in Budapest. The outcome of the meeting was the Budapest Declaration, which outlined priorities for economic integration, digital progress, and security. This was the first time such an event was held on the territory of a European observer state.

Another important event was the establishment of a permanent coordination mechanism following the first meeting of the heads of government of the Turkic Council countries in Bishkek, which will facilitate the expedited implementation of decisions made at the summits.

In his address, Omuraliyev emphasized that in 2025, the areas of cooperation expanded, including the work of central banks, financial intelligence, defense enterprises, intellectual property institutions, and social services. The establishment of the Council on Green Financing, the Union of Insurance of the Turkic World, and the Turkic Investment Promotion Network contributed to strengthening economic ties.

Youth, sports, and humanitarian initiatives also received significant attention. Among them were the III Universiade of Turkic States, which took place in Kyrgyzstan, the designation of Almaty as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World, the selection of Manas as the Tourist Capital of the Turkic World, as well as various forums and sports events held in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.

A key moment of the year was the 12th summit of the Turkic Council, which took place on October 7, 2025, in Gabala under the slogan "Regional Peace and Security." At this summit, the Gabala Declaration, consisting of 121 points, was adopted, and the presidency was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan.

Additionally, the "Turkic Council+" format was approved, which will promote deeper cooperation with external partners, and important infrastructure projects were confirmed, such as the development of the Middle and Zangezur corridors, as well as the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars and China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway routes.

On the international stage, the Turkic Council intensified cooperation with global institutions, holding events in Geneva, Vienna, New York, and Brussels. High-level visits were made to Mongolia, Mexico, and the USA, which contributed to the expansion of political dialogue and economic partnership.

Omuraliyev also noted achievements in the field of culture, including UNESCO's declaration of December 15 as the World Day of the Turkic Language Family, as well as improvements in the language accessibility of the official website of the Turkic Council and the resumption of the internship program for students from Turkic countries.

In conclusion, the Secretary General expressed gratitude to the member states and observers for their support and contribution to the development of the Turkic Council and wished all peoples of the Turkic world peace, stability, and prosperity in the coming year.
