In Kyrgyzstan, a competition has been announced with the aim of providing land plots for projects in the field of renewable energy. As part of this competition, the construction of small hydropower plants and solar power stations is planned in various regions of the country.

According to the Green Energy Fund, nine plots have been put up for auction, located in the Jalal-Abad, Batken, Osh, and Issyk-Kul regions. The sizes of the plots range from less than 1 hectare to 760 hectares, which opens up opportunities for the implementation of both small and significant energy projects.

Of these nine plots, three are designated for solar power stations, while the remaining six are for small hydropower plants. It is expected that the implementation of these projects will lead to an increase in the share of "green" energy in the country, a reduction in the burden on traditional sources of electricity, and the attraction of private investments to the regions.
The results of the competition are expected to be announced on February 11, 2026, which will give potential investors the opportunity to prepare and submit their applications along with the necessary documents by that date.
The Fund noted that the development of renewable energy sources remains one of the key areas of state policy in the field of energy and sustainable development.
