In Kyrgyzstan, work has begun at the new state coal deposits "Suluktu-11" in the Batken region and "Markay" in the Jalal-Abad region.

According to "Kyrgyzkomur," the first year will focus on preparatory work and mining-technical activities. Coal extraction has not yet started, as it is necessary to prepare the mines, install equipment, and create the necessary infrastructure, as well as train workers. Coal supplies for the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026 have not yet been planned.

Once extraction begins, coal will be sold to the population through special points. For "Suluktu-11," coal is planned to be supplied to the city of Suluktu and the Leilek district, while for "Markay," it will be supplied to the city of Manas, as well as the Suzak, Ozgon, and other districts.

The area of "Suluktu-11" is 863.1 hectares, with coal reserves estimated at 82.7 million tons. The "Markay" deposit covers 292 hectares, with reserves of 8.2 million tons.

The price of one ton of coal will be determined by the Antimonopoly Agency based on economic calculations.
