The final pitching of the first cohort of the Bishkek Documentary Lab, a professional platform for young documentary filmmakers, took place in Bishkek. The goal of this initiative is to support the development of projects, provide mentorship, and facilitate international collaboration.
This important part of the program took place on December 26 at the ololo Erkindik space and concluded a six-month cycle of work for participants on their documentary projects. The directors presented their works to producers and industry experts, having undergone training from idea development to the formation of an investment package.
From July to December, the Bishkek Documentary Lab program was implemented with financial support from the National Film Studio "Kyrgyzfilm" named after T. Okiev, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 159 dated May 20, 2022, regarding the development of the national film industry.
The project was made possible through the partnership of "Kyrgyzfilm" and the American University of Central Asia.
