In the Issyk-Kul region, law enforcement officers detained 21 drivers for operating vehicles while intoxicated in just one day.

According to the Regional Traffic Safety Department (UTSD), with the onset of the winter tourist season, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of vacationers arriving in Karakol. This has affected the intensity of road traffic. In this regard, raids titled "Behind the Wheel" are being conducted in the region aimed at preventing road traffic accidents.

These events involve Major of Police Uzakebek Shergaziev, who heads the traffic safety department. During the raid, inspectors held discussions with drivers, explaining the necessity of adhering to traffic rules.

Inspectors emphasized that following safety rules on the road is the responsibility of every driver and that it is important to care not only for one's own safety but also for the safety of other road users.

In addition to cases of driving under the influence, other violations were identified during the raids, such as speeding, lack of seat belts, and driving in the opposite lane. As a result, numerous preventive warnings were issued, and 52 vehicles were sent to the impound lot.

According to the UTSD, similar raids will continue until the end of the winter season. Drivers are strongly advised to avoid driving after consuming alcohol, check the technical condition of their vehicles before long trips, and strictly follow road signs.
