On January 1, 2023, 75 drivers were detained in Kyrgyzstan for being behind the wheel while intoxicated. This information was disseminated by the press service of the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the raids conducted across various regions of the country, more than 3002 traffic rule violators were identified.
In particular, 336 drivers were penalized for speeding, and 602 vehicles were impounded for serious violations.
Additionally, 21 traffic accidents were registered in the country, most of which resulted in no serious consequences.
The Main Department for Road Traffic Safety emphasized that no violations were recorded among its staff, and the situation regarding road traffic safety is under strict control by the leadership.
