Audit at the National Statistics Committee revealed violations amounting to 18.8 million soms

According to the report from the Accounts Chamber of Kyrgyzstan, the audit conducted on the National Statistical Committee for the years 2023-2024 revealed financial discrepancies amounting to 18.8 million soms. This information was announced by the press service of the Accounts Chamber.

Of the total amount of violations, 8.4 million soms are subject to recovery. During the audit, the National Statistical Committee has already returned 176.9 thousand soms to the budget.

The analysis showed that the main violation, amounting to 9.4 million soms, is related to compensation payments to families participating in voluntary studies. Each month, the NSC paid households 200 soms, however, these expenses were accounted for under the "Salaries" item. According to budget legislation, such payments should have been classified under the "Social Assistance to the Population" item.

As a result of the audit, a directive was issued to eliminate the identified violations, restore the funds to the budget, and correct the accounting of expenses. The management of the NSC has been recommended to improve the internal control system and align the document flow with current legislative requirements.
