In Bishkek, at the Kaba Uulu Kozhomkul Sports Palace, the opening of the sixth volleyball championship took place, which includes competitions for both men's and women's teams. The competitions will be held from March 4 to 8 and will bring together the strongest teams from the capital.
At the opening ceremony, the Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Nurgazy Kurmanbekov, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Tagaev, the president of the volleyball federation Elmurza Satybaldiev, and the director of the Sports Department Kanatbek Mamatov were present. In his speech, the vice-mayor emphasized the importance of developing volleyball and assured the participants of the support from the city authorities for the implementation of such initiatives.
In the men's part of the championship, the teams "VV MVD", "SKA MO", "Salam Alik" SI, and "Sary-Ozon" will compete for victory. The women's teams include "Bishkek", "Salam Alik", SDYUSHOR, and "Macron KG". The tournament is organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Bishkek City Hall together with the City Volleyball Federation. The winners of the tournament will be awarded cups, medals, diplomas, and valuable prizes.
