On January 24, a solemn opening ceremony of the championship of Kyrgyzstan in judo took place in Osh, as reported by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the agency, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, opened the official part of the event, emphasizing the importance of such competitions for forming the national team and developing judo in the country.
The opening ceremony was attended by the authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Osh region, Amankan Kenjebayev, the vice-mayor of the city of Osh, Nurlan Zakirov, the president of the National Judo Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kuanychbek Kongantiev, as well as athletes, coaches, and spectators.
The competitions among women are held in weight categories: up to 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, 78 kg and over 78 kg, while men compete in categories up to 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, 100 kg and over 100 kg.
“The goal of the tournament is to select candidates for the judo national team, strengthen friendship among youth, attract young people to physical culture and sports, and improve the skill level of the athletes,” the message states.
