While winning a Golden Globe does not guarantee success at the Oscars, it can increase the chances of a nomination. As one of the first such ceremonies in the awards season, the Golden Globe can create significant momentum, as positive reviews of films may encourage academy members to watch them.
Past winners, such as Sebastian Stan and Demi Moore, also received Oscar nominations after triumphing at the Golden Globe. The films "Stream" and "I’m Still Here" also initially won the Golden Globe before receiving the Oscar in their respective categories.
