In an interview with The New York Times, director Shawn Levy shared an amusing story about the filming of the movie Star Wars: Starfighter, in which Tom Cruise participated. As reported by Meduza, the actor, who initially came just to observe the process, ended up being the cameraman for one of the scenes.

This happened in November 2025, when Cruise flew to the set by helicopter. At that moment, the team was working on a spectacular lightsaber duel, and Levy jokingly suggested that the actor take on the role of cameraman. To everyone's surprise, Cruise agreed.

As a result, the actor found himself in a pond, standing ankle-deep in muddy water, trying to find the best angle for the shot. Shawn Levy noted that Cruise proved to be a true professional, despite the unusual role for him. However, in the process, he likely ruined his expensive shoes.

Fans will be able to appreciate Cruise's work as a cameraman on May 28, 2027, when the premiere of Star Wars: Starfighter takes place, featuring Ryan Gosling in the lead role, along with Amy Adams, Matt Smith, and Mia Goth.
