During a conversation with representatives of The New York Times, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he does not see the need for international law. When asked if there are any limits to his powers on the global stage, Trump replied, "Yes, there is one limitation. My own morality and reason. That is the only thing that can stop me. I don't need international law because I don't want to harm people."

He emphasized that his administration is obligated to adhere to international norms, but he himself will decide when these norms apply to U.S. actions.

This statement came after the United States participated in an operation to overthrow Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, which international law experts deemed illegal.

The publication also mentions that Trump is struggling to choose between NATO and Greenland. "He made it clear that the transatlantic alliance will effectively lose its significance without the support of the United States," the article states.
