In response to the large-scale military actions by the U.S. in Venezuela, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement. According to the Anadolu Agency, Ankara is closely monitoring the developments in this country.

The document notes that Turkey attaches great importance to stability in Venezuela and the well-being of its people. "We urge all parties to exercise restraint to avoid negative consequences for international and regional security," the statement emphasizes.

Additionally, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its readiness to provide constructive assistance in resolving the crisis in Venezuela, based on the norms of international law. It was also mentioned that the Turkish embassy in Caracas maintains constant contact with its citizens in Venezuela.

Criticism of Washington also came from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. He characterized the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife as an act of state terrorism and condemned the U.S. military actions.

Araghchi added: "The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the U.S. attack on Venezuela, which constitutes a gross violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country."

The Iranian foreign ministry also emphasized Venezuela's right to self-defense and called on the international community, including the UN and the Security Council, to immediately stop U.S. actions against Venezuela.

On January 3, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American military forces had captured Nicolás Maduro and his wife, taking them out of the country. He also noted that Maduro is responsible for the activities of the "Cartel of the Suns" and stated that there is "absolute evidence" of his connection to the drug cartel, which will be presented in court.
