The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is closely monitoring the response of Central Asian leaders to the recent report of an attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The ministry has published a corresponding statement.

In the statement, it is emphasized that "the reaction to Russian fakes is unacceptable for the Central Asian countries with which Ukraine intends to develop friendly and pragmatic relations based on mutual respect and benefit. Such responses contradict the stated position of these states regarding support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which are violated by the aggressor," the document notes.

Kiev expressed dissatisfaction that Central Asian countries showed concern over the "alleged attack on Valdai," while remaining silent about the real and ongoing attacks by Russia on civilian objects and peaceful residents of Ukraine.

Earlier, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, expressed deep concern regarding reports of the attack on Putin's state residence in the Novgorod region.

Additionally, the authorities of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan condemned the attack on the residence of the Russian president. On December 30, Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan—Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

On the night of December 29, Kiev carried out a drone attack on the state residence of the President of Russia in the Novgorod region, as previously stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
