Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of "red lines" for Kyiv in the context of future peace negotiations to end the conflict with Russia, as reported by DW.

According to him, the issue of occupied territories and the status of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant cannot be legally recognized under any circumstances. Zelensky added that any decisions on these matters should be discussed with the public — this could be done through a referendum or by amending legislation.

Furthermore, he spoke about key topics he will raise during his trip to the U.S. These include security issues for Ukraine, military assistance, plans for economic recovery, and strategies for peacefully resolving the conflict.

The head of state noted that the issue of security guarantees is particularly relevant, as "Russia has already shown how it reacts to negotiations" between Kyiv and Washington regarding the end of the war.

Zelensky also emphasized that Kyiv supported Trump's initiative for a ceasefire and was ready to make a number of compromises.

He expressed concern that the prolongation of the conflict could threaten the world order, as he believes that Russia will not stop at Ukraine, regardless of any deals or statements.

It has been reported that on December 28, Donald Trump plans to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky in Palm Beach, Florida. According to Politico, the negotiations will discuss Ukraine's security, the possible establishment of a demilitarized zone in the east of the country, the management of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and control over Donbas.

Earlier, Trump noted in an interview with Politico that Zelensky has "no advantages" until the relevant decisions are approved by him as President of the United States.
