According to information provided by DW, in Russia, the number of organizations recognized as undesirable reached a historic maximum of 95 in 2025. This is the highest figure since the introduction of this list.
For comparison, in the first year of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, only 22 organizations were included in the register of undesirable organizations. By 2023, this number had increased to 50, and by 2024, it reached 65. As a result, in 2025, the number of undesirable organizations became 95, which ultimately increases the total list to 281, not counting duplicate legal entities and branches.
Of the total number of undesirable organizations, 77 are related to political activities and support for democratic institutions. 60 organizations are engaged in cultural and educational initiatives, 46 in humanitarian and human rights activities. The media category includes 32 organizations, including both media representatives and projects that support them. Religious movements account for 22 organizations, 17 of which are opposed to the war.
