On the eve, on the night of December 28 to 29, Kyiv carried out a drone attack on the residence of the President of Russia, located in the Novgorod region. This was reported by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Vladimir Putin's assistant Yuri Ushakov noted that this incident will not go unanswered. He also added that Putin discussed this situation with Donald Trump during a recent conversation.

“The US President was shocked by the news of the attack on Putin's residence. This event could change the American strategy for interacting with Zelensky. Trump acknowledged that he could not have anticipated 'such crazy actions' as a drone attack on the long-term residence of the Russian leader,” Ushakov stated.

He also emphasized that Trump expressed gratitude for the fact that the US administration “did not provide 'Tomahawks' to Kyiv.”

On the other hand, the President of Ukraine denied the information about this attack, calling it fake.

Donald Trump commented on this situation, noting that if the drones were indeed aimed at Putin's residence, it is extremely negative.

Trump characterized his recent conversation with the Russian leader as productive, adding that Putin informed him about the alleged attempt to attack the residence in the Novgorod region.

“I don’t like this. It’s bad,” CNN quotes him as saying.

The US leader acknowledged the possibility that the information about the attack could be false and that no actual attack took place, but noted that it was Putin who told him about this incident. Trump admitted that he had just learned about what happened and does not have the details.
