The initiative was presented by a group of deputies led by Leonid Kalashnikov, the chairman of the committee on CIS affairs, Eurasian integration, and interaction with compatriots in the State Duma.
It is important to note that if an individual refuses to take the oath or does not complete this procedure within a year after the decision to grant citizenship, such a decision will be considered invalid.
