According to various sources, the athlete has changed his sports citizenship and has already become the champion of Kyrgyzstan in the weight category up to 86 kilograms.

Mikhail Mamiashvili noted that "we will receive compensation for him. He is not the leader of the team, such practice is normal." When asked about the amount of compensation, he added that "we would like more."

On December 24, Shavaev won the championship of Kyrgyzstan, defeating Mukhammed Abdullaev in the final, who is also the leader of the team in the same weight category.

Shavaev is a two-time champion of Russia (2021, 2022) in the weight category up to 79 kilograms and the winner of the BRICS Games 2024.
