The geoportal is a reference and information platform that will be regularly updated with new data.
The idea to create this project was approved two years ago.
“The Geoportal of Spatial Data Infrastructure of the CIS member states offers unique opportunities for users within the Commonwealth of Independent States. On the platform, one can:
- explore tourism potential;
- choose a higher education institution;
- plan a career;
- identify investment opportunities.
This geoportal serves as a unified geoinformation platform aimed at citizens, state and municipal authorities, business structures, as well as scientific and educational institutions. It is focused on the search, dissemination, systematization, and optimization of high-quality, reliable, and legally significant standard spatial data and services for the CIS countries,” the official statement notes.
The map interface is a convenient tool for visualizing geographic information, which helps address social, economic, cultural, tourism, and educational tasks.
