In 2025, 34,560 school "Tulpar" cards were issued in Bishkek, as well as 20,600 discounted cards for pensioners and people with disabilities, in addition to 90,500 standard cards. This was reported by Bekzhan Akmatbekov, the director of operational activities for the project, at a press conference today.
He noted that 1,445 validators have been installed in public transport.
“Last year, we installed 322 new validators and put into operation 120 devices of a new model that had not been used before. Next year, we will begin a phased replacement of all validators with new ones,” Akmatbekov added.
He also emphasized that there are two ways to pay for travel on public transport in Bishkek.
“There is a differentiated tariff: 20 soms for cash and 17 soms for cashless payments. Although cash is still accepted, we do not have data on the volume of its use. To ensure the transition of citizens to cashless payments, it is necessary to revise the tariff policy, increasing the price difference by more than three soms. However, this is within the competence of the city hall and the city council,” he concluded.
