The introduction of free travel for certain groups of citizens has become possible thanks to a draft resolution prepared by the Bishkek city hall and put up for public discussion.
If benefits are established for specific categories, the losses of transport companies will be covered:
from the republican budget - if the benefits are established by a decision of the cabinet of ministers and authorized bodies;
from the local budget - if the decisions on benefits are made by local keneshes.
We remind you that the cost of travel for one passenger in Bishkek is as follows:
in municipal buses with validators: 17 soms for cashless payment and 20 soms for cash payment;
in small class buses, regardless of their ownership, - 20 soms.
The price of a transport card (electronic travel ticket "Tulpar") for a month is:
school card - 360 soms;
standard card - 1,020 soms.
The costs of producing the transport card are included in its actual cost.
The right to free travel on public transport in the capital is granted to the following categories of citizens:
pensioners;
persons with disabilities of groups I, II, III due to general illness and work-related injuries;
disabled individuals from childhood;
children under seven years old;
postal workers from the state enterprise "Kyrgyzpost" while performing official duties.
